Hello and welcome to 6th grade English, History and Design Lab! I have been at Foothill Knolls since 2017. I am passionate about History and finding ways to connect the past to today. I also enjoy linking history to Literature & STEM and making our learning units cross-curricular.
I live here in Upland with my partner and our 3-year old daughter, Ella Rose. I got my Bachelor of Arts degree at Cal Poly Pomona and am in the middle of getting my Masters degree from there as well. As a mommy to a toddler I don't have a ton of free time, but I do enjoy being outdoors, reading, and playing with my two fur babies, Frodo and Sam. I can’t wait to get to know all of you. Hello! My name is Dawn Vieira and I am the 6th grade math and science teacher here at Foothill Knolls. I have been with Upland Unified School for 18 years and have taught 6th-8th grade for over 21 years! Our middle school kids are full of personality and keep me laughing all day long!
I received a Bachelors in English from California State University San Bernardino and a Masters in Education from Claremont Graduate University.
When I'm not at school, I love camping and traveling with my husband and our teenage son. Taking road trips to Utah to visit our daughter and son-in-law are always the highlight of our year!
